T-Mobile G1

what do you expect from a mobile phone ? do you use it just to make phonecalls, txts ? do you use your mobile as a mobile office/organizer ?
Its a nice phone but still new and still misses few functions :-)

I wanted one. All the reviews seemed to weigh it against the iPhone - all seemed to say that the second version will be far better. At least with the iPhone it has a restricted code operating system rather than Windows mobile or Linux. I don't like the idea of someone formatting or hacking into my phone.

It seems to me that the high watermark is the iPhone. I now plan to wait for iPhone 2 rumoured for June 09.

Does anyone own a T-Mobile G1 phone? If so what do you think of it?
The OS has massive potential but is being seriously let down by the hardware. There's a whole bundle of Android phones set for release this year, and with Sony Ericsson, HTC, Motorola, Samsung and many other handset makers embracing the OS you'd be mad to go for the G1 at this stage.

I really think that we'll see some interesting advances in the mobile handset world over the next 12 months, especially given the backing of Android by some of the major players.

I definitely think we'll see an iPhone Nano of some sorts before we get the iPhone 3G II but by that stage the Android handsets should be really starting to hit their stride.
