Looking for some advice. I’m going to switch out my wd mycloud for a synology ds220j. I’ve not used the mycloud as anything but local nas storage but would like to access the synology when i’m at remote sites.
This is mainly email backup related where i use efiler which saves to the mycloud and i would like to have the same saving options when remote.
i’m a bit of a lightweight on cloud side but my question is if i map the drive on the synology from my laptop when connected to my local network will it automatically map the same drive as a cloud resource when i’m working remotely. This is on the basis that 8’ve done the setup to allow remote access over the cloud.
there would be no real benefit to me if the drive letters were different over the local network than over the cloud for email backup but there would be no problems for me if the same physical drive was mapped to 2 letters for access to other folders on the network
be gentle on the terminology please, looking for beginner advice here
