Sync cables and wireless triggers?

This is probably a dumb question but is it possible to mix different triggers within the same setup?

I already have a SB800 which I'm firing with a wireless trigger and have just picked up a SB-26 which I was hoping to fire with a sync cable - is this possible or do I have to bite the bullet and buy another wireless trigger?

Yes, you can mix different sync methods. Usually, it depends. Sometimes not.

In your situation, I would just fit the SB-26 with a little optical slave which will sync off the SB800. £10 from Jessops.

The SB-26 has a built-in optical slave....;)
 
Excellent, cheers for the replies folks. I don't actually have the sb-26 in my hands yet so wasn't sure about the optical slave, just wanted to make sure I could use it without immediately needing another trigger.
 
Taxilian, used the exact same setup for several months without any hassles. Providing the flash from the SB800 is activating the SB26's slave then it's a very versatile set-up. Even in strong sunlight it worked without problems for me :)
