Currently parents are on BT home phone and Plusnet broadband
Looking to swap to EE home phone and broadband

What needs to be done, do I need to order a code from plusnet, tell bt and plusnet or just sign up to new phone and broadband and they will do the rest?

Have you not asked BT and Plusnet? Surely they'd give you the best answers.

Before you make the swap, do your homework as EE (Orange) are not the best broadband and phone providers. There are other, better providers, from both a service perspective and value for money.

I just switched bb from talk talk to o2, I had to ask talk talk for a code which I provide to O2 and they did everything for me.

However as above it is worth checking with the new provide what you need.

Thanks
Well the package is quite good with Discount for being orange customer for wht they need

Depends if exchange if unbundled or not, the code your l;ooking for is a MAC ,,, wouldnt jump ship just yet,, as 70% of country is nearly converted to fibre.

Watch for 18/24 mth contracts ,, not good when the price of may be falling.

ur exchange is ur exchange ,, that u cant change,, so speeds aint going to vary much from provider to provider

70% of the country is converted to fibre? I wish!

First, check that neither service is still on a contract. Then check status of exchange (PM me the number if you want help). Then you will need a MAC from plusnet to give to your new supplier - unless you are moving LLX>LLU.

But above all else, do some research. It's no good selecting a supplier based on cost alone as that can end in tears.

Check out the Which? ratings for consistently great customer service - then look at this.

Thanks for replies

As they are using it to stream they are finding either it buffering or the online tv stream box thing they have is a bit dodgy, I would imagine the former

So what's best for streaming?
