Seen a D3 on Ebay that's new. Emailed seller as he doesn't accept PayPal and i'm concerned that my well earned money goes into his bank, he disappears and never to be seen again.

What do you think to his email?

It is not that I don't like paypal, but for large price items it always ends up incurring a cost to receive the money. No cash pickups either, its just too much of a pain. I am not in the country all the time and end up asking friends to meet you. If you don't trust me, buy it from Nikon . If it sounds too good to be true... it is. Would not touch it with a barge pole mate. Even when I have searched on the net for a US or HK version I can't get one at near that price.

Seriously, no pay pal and cash is too much hassle? I guarantee you would lose your money...

There's a guy in Oxford that has a couple of them for IIRC £2500 or there abouts. Not sure if they're Japan imports though. :nono:

I'd tell him to poke it. looks dodgy and no guarantee you get your money back.

If in doubt chuck it out.

Have offered to pay the paypal fees for him so that I have protection through Ebay but no response.

if it's item 260203553247, then his feedback looks suspect, only one item recently then nothing for the last 3 months, plus he's keeping the bidder ID's private.

Not worth the risk.

Warehouse express will have 34 spare in January when the delivery comes in to fulfill the backlog of orders.

Would love to get the 12-24 Nikon that's been releaed also at the same time.

I actually looked at that one, and a couple of others like it, and thought they looked well dodgy. Any payment option limitation raises alarm bells, bank transfer only even more so, and to say no collection......gulp!

Too risky IMO
