I've just received an invite to shoot (for my own fun) a pro model tomorrow evening.
She will be there with a make up artist, a(pro) tog and a number of other amature photographers.
The model is up for a fun shoot after the main event with the amature photographers like myself.
I'd be stupid to turn it down but am feeling a little daunted by it.
The shoot will be outdoors starting about 7pm.
I have already decided to take prime lenses with my D80 body....I think probably the 85mm and 50mm will be the two i use predominantly, but will take a couple of wider ones "just in case"
From what i understand there is likely to be backlight issues .....I am not adverse to metering the model and blowing the background....that is what I generally do with backlit shots anyway, however I have an SB800 and may use fill flash............but this is the area that I understand very little about.
If I meter off the model and use the flash in ttl mode....will the whole scene look natural or will the model look like she has been superimposed onto a background scene?
If the latter, then i may be as well simply blowing the BG and concentrating purely on the model.
Btw, I don't atm know exactly what the BG scene will be but could well be quite dramatic and work well if I can get the lighting right.
Although this is planned as a fun outing, I would nonetheless like to try get some good shots and go with a reasonable knowledge of how to get them!
Any help appreciated
