I'm in the market for a new laptop - budget £1500, but can be flexible if I'll get significantly more bang for my bucks.

My first gen Microsoft Surface book fell on its spine the other week and insurance have written it off. Ironically if it was a repairable device, I suspect it would have been an easy fix, but Microsoft sealed and soldered everything making it impossible to upgrade or fix.

So Ideally I'd like to replace it with something that I could at least upgrade the ram and SSD.

Ideally I want a decent colour accurate touch screen, ideally that'll accept pen input. This might be less of an issue if my insurance company are able to return my old surface book, as the screen still worked and I still have the surface pen. I run PS / LR, starting to use Resolve R17. Also what seems to be more processor intensive gaming. And finally, dialling into work and general productivity away from home.

However its worth saying, this is not my primary device - I have a highish spec 9700k / 3070ti desktop with 2 decent screens.

Any suggestions??

I had the 13.5 and have to say, the screen was lovely but maybe a bit small for the resolution, so probably looking at 15" I'm not going to say no to a 13 if the spec is good enough though, but it'll be used as a mobile device, rather than mostly plugged into a second monitor.

I'll have a look at the surface laptop 4 as well, though feeling a bit burned by Microsoft's lack of simple repairability / upgradability.
