Hello

I want to get a flash that I can use off camera with my Olympus OMD Em5 which doesn't break my wallet. The FL600r seems to get reviews but is super expensive and I cannot justify it for the amount of use it will be (I mostly shoot underwater and I have lighting for that). Also, strobist is an interesting read but he seems to have a Lumopro thing going on and you dont seem to be able to get these in the UK.

Any suggestions?

thx

OM-D owners are a bit thin on the ground around here Suzy, so you may have better luck posting on the long OM-D thread here http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=395080

I suspect you may be out of luck though, as most third-party flash manufacturers concentrate mainly on Canon and Nikon. Just about any gun will work in manual, but the OM-D's dedicated auto-TTL operation will need something Olympus-specific.

However, if you want to use flash off-camera, then manual is usually the favoured mode anyway. In which case, get a simple radio trigger (with only one single pin/contact on the foot) and then fit any flash gun to the receiver. Best value guns are probably Yongnuo.
