So I thought I'd share a short video I put together yesterday of sunset up Jebel Jais, the UAE's tallest mountain. They're currently building a road up the mountain, which gives photographers and tourists access, which is great, plus creates some interesting light trail opportunities.

These time lapse sequences were shot on a D800 and D4s using a Syrp Genie and Magic Carpet slider plus Syrp Genie Mini for single axis rotation. I've been having fun, but also found it infuriating, learning time lapse photography (or movie making) but finally getting happier with the results. I'd love to hear what you think.

Looks great, I loved the cars headlights on the mountain roads. How did you find the day to night transition, any issues with exposure and flicking?

I processed using LRTimelapse - definitely recommended for anyone processing time lapse. Shot in manual, adjusting the shutter speed and ISO individually then processed using the holy grail module. I've learnt to adjust the ISO first to keep exposure right, then reducing shutter speed, as I ended up shooting at 6400ISO with the D800.

Thanks for that, I have been looking into LRTimlapse and the Holy grail mode, hope to give it a go soon.
