Sunrise

Could anyone help with this sunrise image ?,this image was taken last Sunday at 6 a.m, but when I've come to process it, my eye is drawn to the line just above the horizon,especially the right hand side,I think this may be from the reversed grad filter,don't know ,but I would like just to blend it down to the water,a step by step guide would be helpful.....thanks

When you posted this in the "brush challenge" thread I thought someone had actually responded to the thread rather than a hint to come and look at this.

I cannot really see the line you are talking about - there is a cloud line but that is part of the scene as far as I can tell and if you used a graduated ND filter you should not have a definite line anyway ?

Thanks for the reply and comment, I couldn't make up my mind Christine whether it was the cloud line or an error on my part being new to landscaping, thanks

I think it is just the cloud on the horizon.

Your horizon needs straightening but it is a nice simple sunset shot.

What exactly do you mean by reversed grad? do you mean you had it with the "hard" edge near the bottom?

If I can answer for Brian, you can buy reverse grads where the darkest section is right in the centre, clear at the bottom, fading up to the top. I use a 3 stop Hitech one, Singh Ray also do them. Ideal for sunrise and sunset where the brightest section is not right at the top of the frame.
