North England Sunderland Airshow 2014

Morning all, never been to the airshow before and was disapointed to find out i wouldnt be able to make it this year either due to pre planned commitments and work BUT ....... Just had a shift change at work so im free for the Friday night and possibly depending on flight times maybe able to squeeze some passing visits on saturday and sunday i just cant actually get to the show so im looking for some advice....

Flight paths they use?? might sound a strnge question
Times they fly??

Basically i live in a Whitley Bay and my girlfriends parents live in near Boldon so could be at either place

Just wondering where people advise standing? or is it best being in the thick of it? if thats the came ill have to make dam sure im there Friday cause i doubt ill be there the rest of the weekend but was hoping to catch a few phtoos of them traveling from the Airport to the show.

any advice would be great!!

Come on locals or regulars to the show share any good vantage points for Friday night? Planes and fireworks?

have to agree the website run by sunderland live is not good for the info or easy to find it.
some of the planes take off and land at newcastle so you might get a glimpse at whitley bay or boldon but it will be pot luck.
surprised like you the regulars have not set a thread going.

Are they mad? I'm looking out over the way, there isn't a cloud in the sky...

@SunderlandUK What cloud bank? IBue sky everywhere,& was obviously gonna clear, it started clearing up at about 4pm. perfect flying weather.

@SunderlandUK @safc1982 are the met office anywhere near Sunderland? Try looking outside...

It was crystal clear till about half 8 then it came in thick and fast so maybe the wet office got it right!!

Doesn't look like the fire works will go off either
