Next month I am going on holiday to Turkey, Hisaronu/Oludeniz for a week, having never been before, can anyone make any suggestions for good locations with great subject matter ?

Bumpety bump bump !!!!

No one got any suggestions then ?

Pamukkale Travertines (white mineral pools clinging to the hillside) below the Byzantine city of Hierapolis, are fantastic, 2 birds with one stone so to spesk also near there, theres a waterfall at Bayir, thats quite big and accessible, theres Ephesus, and Dalyan city in the mountainside and Dalyan mud baths thats fun LOL, read what we did in Turkey (9ys ago) http://SPAM/4gzlx8y

In Oludeniz itself, there always the option of stunning sunsets over the lagoon. There is also the options of going paragliding from the top of Babadag. You'll get some stunning landscapes at the top, and take your camera for some unique views of the town.

Dolmus into Feithye and go and explore the abandoned Ottoman village on the hill above. It was abandoned after the fall of the Ottoman empire at the end of WW1. Theres a fantastic marina and bustling market in Feithye as well.

Dave's suggestions are great places to visit. Ephesus is a bit far from Oludeniz though. That would be a 6hr each way journey.

Oludeniz is also the start of the Lycian way, if you have time it may be worth exploring some of that. Although I do think sitting with a beer watching the sun go down and taking photos may be the best use of a camera.

Worthwhile getting on one of the gullets (day boats) to explore the coast as well

Thanks guys, great suggestions, I hope to get some great pictures while I am there, hopefully something worthwhile and not a load of basic holiday snaps.

Well, I know for sure I will be going on the Para Glide thing, plan on getting some awesome pictures from the sky.

PMSL, nah, wouldn't be taking my camera ParaSailing, but, ParaGliding, absolutely, hehehe.

Kayakoy is an interesting place to go to. The name of the gorge mentioned above is Saklikent Gorge. I'm not sure how far you can walk, as we had limited time when we were there. The temperature will be hot but the water is really cold. I hope you enjoy yourself whatever you do.

i'm off to marmaris next week.. going to do the overnight trip to ephesus and pamukkale again as was ill the last time we went and didnt enjoy it... have decided not to take my DSLR.... eek! have bought a sony nex5n so should be fine.. but still :)

are the ruins on the cleopatras island day trip worth visiting?... we did the mud bath trip but felt a bit like herded cattle at times so not bothering this time.. did enjoy the trip past the rock tombs though..
