When I say semi-disabled friendly, I mean avoiding big hills, loads of steps and as little walking as possible. It doesn't have to be wheelchair accessible.

Does anyone have any suggestions on places I can try, in or just outside Somerset?

Been racking my brains for a couple of days over this, the problem is I don't consider the landscape of Somerset to be that great. However, somewhere with water might suit. North coast (Porlock area, Watchet, Blue Anchor)? I know at Blue Anchor there's ample free parking along the sea wall above the beach. Lynmouth, Valley of Rocks at Lynton (need plenty of change for parking but not much walking involved, and they're in Devon but not by much). Closer to home Langport has a large area of level paths by the river and a car park very close by. Chard Reservoir is beautiful at sunset. Use the fisherman's car park off Chaffcombe Lane - it's right by the water with a view down the lake. Out on the Moors (what most people call the Levels) you can park by a lot of the river bridges (and there are a lot of river bridges). All you need is some mist and the sun just breaking through.... The Taunton Bridgwater Canal is worth a visit too - park at Maunsell Lock or the Boat and Anchor at Huntworth. There's Exmoor, or course. Plenty of places where the road runs over open moorland, high up with views. The coast road between Porlock and Lynmouth. The other way Dorset is worth exploring.

Thanks Jan, and Terry. Some great suggestions and so many places I've overlooked - mainly as landscape isn't something I've considered doing until recently.

Now I just need to actually get out the house in decent light :p
