I'm looking for places around Scotland which are good for photography. I'm from Edinburgh and relying on public transport to get around as i don't drive! Somewhere ideal for a day trip, not too far away. Really intereseted in photographing interesting architecture and structures. Any suggestions would be very welcome, and also photos you have taken? :) Cheers

Well Edinburgh is a great place to start. Have you been tot he Falkirk wheel?

Ive never been there no, I'll give it a shot

Edinburgh must be cracking place for photography.

We're up there in August for the tattoo, so i'm hoping to find out..

It is a great place for photography, I just want to get out and see more!

How about Linlithgow? No distance by train and a marvellous cathedral with a most unusual spire. The loch provides good "framing" features.

The town centre also has some concrete boxes, if you prefer that sort of thing.

roslin chapel some very intresting stonework and carving's
linlithgow palace

It depends how far you want to go, the East Neuk trail is very nice, all the wee coastal villages from Kirkcaldy up to Anstruther, Pitenweem etc.

Search flickr for Scotland Images..... There's zillions of places and some amazing architecture. St Andrews is a great place to go.

Hop on the train across the Forth to Dalgety Bay and head down to the waterside (its only a few minutes walk) - plenty to photograph, and very picturesque. I've got many a nice photo of the road and rail bridge lit up in the early evening on my holidays up there :)

Culross is a lovely wee place, with some charming old buildings and pubs that do great food and drink
