My current Lowepro 100 is now too small for what gear I've got.

Here's the inventory:

Canon 450D
Canon 18-55mm IS
Canon 70-300mm IS USM
Canon 100mm USM Macro
Canon 430 EX II Speedlite
MacBook Pro 15"

I'm now looking to get a camera bag that can accommodate the camera/lenses/light as well as the laptop, with space for other small peripherals - hoods, batteries, cables, etc - and for a future lens or two.

Any thoughts/recommendations?

GEM bags from Amazon. Replicas of LowePro. Great quality for a fraction of price.

Hi Mile i use a Lowepro Vertex300 when i go walking.

A Hama defender series 210 for weddings and a Hama defender 170 shoulder bag for when i've got to trail around the shops with the missus:lol:

didnt know about GEM bags. Thanks sebastian.
Mile, i got the lowepro primus the other day, huge bag...but no room for a 13+ inch laptop. compuprime is not a bad choice i think (going to order it).

You'll never out grow it . . . for a while at least!

Mile - Not sure what your preference is ref style of bag, but I have been paying close attention recently, with a view to buying, to the new Lowepro Classified range, specifically the 250AW which looks like it might meet your requirements..
The 200AW will also take a laptop apparently - possibly a 13" ?
There are a few reviews on POTN and other places.
I also like the idea that they do a 'sepia' coloured version - supposedly less obvious as a camera bag...

Thanks, guys. I'll have a look into all of these.

I don't really have any preference, so it will be good to weigh up the pros and cons of each.

The big GEM bag can carry my D3, 24-70mm, 80-200mm, 50mm, 70-300mm, e510, 14-44mm, 44-150mm, 2-3 flashes, all my triggers, cables, filter, cards, trigtip reflector, 15.4'' laptop, sandwiches, drinks. And I can attach my tripod to it. And it has weatherproof cover. What more can you get for £40 delivered? :)

Mile - the best bet is to find a retailer where you can actually try your equipment in a variety of bags - and play around with the positioning/interior layout til you're happy. There's nothing worse than buying a bag online and finding your gear doesn't fit properly.

I'd go for a Lowepro - they're built like tanks and the range is enormous. Here are the shoulder bags: http://products.lowepro.com/catalog/Camera,20.htm
