Does anyonbe submit pics to the BBC or SKY on spec.. if so where?

Hi Tony I hate to see a thread unanswered :),

I did, a good few years ago, via a cameraman friend who works for the BBC, try and see if there was any interest in stills images from various sporting events but the responce was "we get all our stills from Getty"!, & now moving on a number of years I think, (looking at any BBC sports websites), it's still in force:).
Besides, modern video cameras used are more than capable of supplying there own high quality stills images!, especially SKY :shake:. Kind regards Graham.

The BBC signed a new deal with Wilkinsons this year (www.swpix.com) for all RL images and some other sports

You could try paultheweatherman@bbc.co.uk LOL

Ive had a few on the sky sports RL website over the years but they were downloaded from me rather than me submitting, ill have a natter with someone and get back to you mate.

I spoke to a mate at Sky a year or two ago and pretty much what has been said by others above. They either use existing agreements or use their own stills
As for the BBC.......
