Stupid!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!11+

I bought a wireless mouse from Tesco a few days ago. Worked smashing for the first few days. Then all of a sudden, my mouse pointer turned into John Merrick, developed a mind of its own and decided it wanted to live in the top right corner of my screen. Forever.

Its an optical one, too.

I turned it over, and noticed a dog hair lodged on the laser. I removed it with some tweezers, but it broke. The mouse was still misbehaving, so I broke the warranty seal and dismantled it, until it fell into about 6 pieces which, given that I successfully repaired my own mobile phone last week, I successfully reassembled.

My mouse pointer was still away with the fairies.

Today, out of morbid curiosity, I replaced the batteries with some from G/F's wireless keyboard. Works perfectly now!

I've just been down to Argos and bought some AAA rechargable batteries for it and everything's hunky dory again.

So, my shiny new mouse came complete with batteries which lasted for a grand total of two bleedin' days! I hope the rechargable ones fare better! :bang:

I use rechargeable batteries in my mouse and I tend to get about 4 or 5 days out of them... tops.

Always jump in the deep end first... :bang:
... me I never do that... urrm

At least it wasn't your camera and you didn't go out and buy a new one cos you thought the old one had died when you tried the wrong type of battery :embarrassed:

I use a wacom tablet. Even although I have the mouse the pen is never out of my hands..... even as I type this!

Love it.

Yeah, the wireless optical mouse saps a lot of juice and goes through 2 AA rechargeable batteries in about 1 week. My wireless keyboard lasts about 3 times as long on two AA rechargeable batteries.

I also only change my wireless batteries every 3 months or so that is both here and at work. Hmm glad I lucked out.

my new wireless mouse claims a 1 year battery life... we'll see.

Got a Microsoft Optical Wireless notebook 4000 mouse for Christmas, installed a single AA battery that came with it and I'm still using that same battery now.

Lasting for aaaaages.

My logitech laser mouse on the main pc upstairs needs recharging every 2-3 weeks if I'm not using it all that much.

Had mine a couple of years and only replaced a couple of times - how far are you guys working from the receiver?

Well the logitech one is about a foot from the reciever but its a laser mouse rather than juse your bog standard led so it probably uses more power. I tend to charge it when it goes down to 2 bars from 3 so I could get away with not charging it but I'd hate to be in teh middle of a gaming session and it die on me.

The laptop reciever is a little usb stick sized thing. Mouse is generally less than 20cm from that.

Please post the make and model of your wireless mouse. :) Probably some models are better designed and don't waste so much power than the rest.

Hi, I got a wireless mouse and thought it was ACE, until i had to keep changing the batteries every five mins! was then advised to try higher power re-chargeables!! and that seems to be doing the trick! got the same size batteries in my camera (AA) and still can't work out why the mouse needs changing more often?

Had mine for a few years... (Valentines pressie from other half - HOW ROMANTIC!!!?)

...Mouse is a bit battery hungry but keyboard's lasted years???

my Dad tried fixing my Cinderella watch, he pulled out a hair but then realised it was a hair spring..it never worked again but I was only about 6 so I got over it...well i think I have :'(
