Edit: I'll expand a bit, sorry. Macro lenses are usually sharp and optically sound from every manufacturer, including third party manufacturers. The AF can be a bit slower than some when going from close distance the infinity as they focus much closer (there's further to search), but it's usually accurate and most have a limiter switch so it'll not search at very close distances.

Yes of course, although you might find it a bit on the long side for indoor shots, depending on how much space you have. My Sigma 105 macro takes great portraits
