As the thread title says... Need something quite cheap for half a day... had a look around on the internet but didn't find much - anyone know of anywhere? Want to pay under £50 if at all possible, can't afford any more.

Wow. You are asking a lot. £50 for half day is lower than the going rate, that's for sure. If you find anyone, I'd love to know. But in case you don't, try speaking to http://www.tiptop-photography.com/ Steve and Deb are lovely people, and they can look after you, even if you have to pay a little extra.

Yeh can deffo vouch for Tiptop. Great studio and really helpful people too. If you do manage to find anywhere for that kind of money its likely that the equipment wont be upto much and you will get little to no help whilst using it.

Worth paying a little more in my opinion if you can.

I've had a look through that directory but couldn't find anything suitable.

I understand that it is a very low budget (truth be told I was hoping to find something for £20-£30, didn't realise how expensive they were), though unfortunately it's all we can afford to pay at the moment, so it's really that or nothing. All we need at the moment is the uncluttered space, we're fine for lighting and such.

Thanks for the help though :)

In that case you'd be better off looking at church or community halls for hire.

Imagered used to do half days for 50 quid. Not sure if they still do. Is Tamworth too far?

Paul - good idea, will have a look into that :)

Dave- ooh, that looks good. Not quite sure about the distance, mainly depends on how we'd get there. Could be feasible though. Thanks!

The going rate for most studios is between £20 and £30 per hour, which of course gets you access to a dedicated venue with, usually, high end equipment that would cost hundreds of Pounds a day to rent independently.

Saying that, it might be worth approaching your nearest venue and offer them your fifty quid if you can be flexible on the days and times of your shoot, so the can fit it into some dead time in their schedule too.
