Hi all has any 1 used or have a set of Lencarta studio lighting. the 600 pro with softbox and how would you rank them with the high end big boys
also the extras are they well built will they last

Nobody can tell the difference between a picture taken with Elichrom or Bowens or Lencarta, what you need to nkow is if power and colour are consistent and Lencarta are, secondly the light is controlled by the modifiers available so are Lencarta softboxes, beauty dishes stc. as good as the others out there? Well they are certainly better than most cheaper makes and as they are all standard Bowens S mount you can use adapters from many manufacturers but personally I have much more expensive soft boxes but generally use the cheaper Lencarta ones and I cant tell the difference.

Hi Mike Many thanks for the comment I know you cant tell in a Picture ;-) is the build quality good do you rank them as a good buy I see on web that they have 3 years cover ?
do you use them or have you in the past

My Bowens have happily served me well for 17 or 18 years but if I had to replace them tomorrow I would be happy to use Lencarta, I know enough event photographers that do and if they can survive events they can survive anything - I have used Lencarta soft boxes for nearly two years as I like the umbrella design which speeds setting up and tearing down.

I don't know about all the fancy new models with their clever electronics (IMO too soon to tell if they will last - and that goes for all manufacturers) but I suspect I've had my Elite Pros for about 4 years. I've used them a fair bit in that time. They still work.

One of my magic folding softboxes (the one I use most) is held together with duct tape. Tape seems to be holding.

I use Elinchrom but would buy Lencarta if I was starting again
