Studio Lighting *at college* 1st buying

Hi,
This is first post.

I'm at college and looking to getting some studio lighting. something which is a reasonable price to learn and build up knowledge when working in the studio.

What best and where to buy from ?

Does your college not have equipment that they lend out? I know mine did many moons ago and some friends often borrow lights etc from their college

I know I must be sounding like a broken record. I can't say how good this kit is. Check out D-Lite's from the Flash Centre. Elinchrom will grow with you and the mods are fantastic. http://www.theflashcentre.com/kits_5.html I buy my kit from no one else, as the service is so good I've never wanted to go anywhere else.

Suggest you have a read of the Sticky at the top of this forum 'Which Flash System' which has some very good contributions.

Every brand has its devotees, and every brand has its opponents : it's a bit like the camera debate, although not quite so dogmatic!

You don't give a budget, so it's hard to make a reasoned recommendation. You would be well advised to go to a dealer who deals with a number of brands (I deal with four) and see what the pros and cons of each brand are,
You can also go to something like The Photography Show in March where you should be able to get hands on with several brands and decide what you like best, and in the right place at the right time you might hit a good deal for your budget.
