Studio Lighting Advice Needed

I would really appreciate some help in choosing lighting equipment.

I'm setting up a studio to let out so usage is an unknown value. Always the optimist, I'm hoping that at times the lighting will be

used fairly heavily, with this in mind I am assuming fan cooled units are a minimum so I've been looking at Bowens 500Pro/750Pro and Lencarta EP600 lights.

So far I'm thinking....

2x or 3x Bowens 750Pro
4x Bowens 500Pro or Lencarta EP600

What do you think?, any suggestions or comments would be very much appreciated especially from the more experienced studio users.

Am I correct in having to use fan cooled units as a minimum requirement?. I'm more a landscape photographer myself and hoping to make use of the studio more in the future.
 
Margate you say? You could be busy - very few studios for rent in Kent.

Personally I'd stock up on EP300s (though see my signature). Unless you're building a high end pro studio, most of your clients will be fine with 300 w/s. And you can buy 3 X EP300 for the price of a 750Pro.

No real reason you can't add high powered Bowens later if you really find a need.
 
As above. Too much power can cause its own problems, so unless you're going to be shooting on medium format film you may cause more problems than you solve if you have high powered heads.

The ElitePro 300 will give you f/16 d2 with a standard reflector at 10' on full power, the ElitePro 600 will give you f/22 d2 - both @ 100 ISO - it's easier to 'increase' power by turning the ISO up to 200 than to 'reduce' it by adding neutral density gels.
 
I really appreciate the input from both of you. Power requirements was one area I was not sure of.

I have built a fairly large infinity cove which gives the option of maybe shooting furniture or motorcycles etc etc

This is why I was thinking I might be need some extra power. What do you think?
 
Well, if you're shooting furniture then yes, another stop of power might be useful sometimes.
