ok now the xmas period is over i have some funds and the postal service will be getting back to normal im looking to get my home studio kit now for my backgrounds ive found a couple and would like some oppinions ive found one on ebay

this one
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Studio-Ba...&otn=5&po=LVI&ps=63&clkid=5325358434762452088

but ive also just found this one that has a velvet type material and states its easier to use and light up so you can put your subject closer to the background

now obviously the second one also has the train and i was thinking of adding a Chroma Key Blue/Green too for adding my own backdrops

so which would you consider the best and also the knitting problem on the white is this something to worry about or is it common

i like the pop up feature in the second one too

any help appreciated id like to get it right first time so i dont have to buy other stuff

The first ones are rubbish they are see through so I ordered the pop up ones with trails.

so does anyone know if the velvet material is ok to use have you used it

and also is the knitting problem in the fabric common they say it does not effect it if you light it up but im not sure as never done this before

I'm not sure that I can be much help but...

If I were you I'd forget the first one. Quite apart from anything else, this seller seems to sell just about everything under the sun, and non-specialist sellers are best avoided.

The second one... I haven't seen it but even if the faults in the weave aren't serious, I doubt whether the white background will work well. There are a few people selling black/white backgrounds, usually the light goes straight through the white and bounces off of the black, giving results that definitely aren't white.

And the black velvet isn't velvet - they describe it as 'velvet type' which usually means velveteen, which is shiny and therefore no good at all as a black background.

Looking at other items sold by the same seller, I'm not impressed by their prices or their warranty. There are a lot of people selling junk on Ebay, you need to be careful what you buy and who you buy from.

thanks for the help do you have any recommendations then

i thought the second one wasnt to bad as there are some photos in the add that is taken with it
