Student just starting out...

Hello... I'm a 21yr old Student who loves to travel. Photography is a new hobbie of mine, and one in which i want to get better at. I'm back off to Africa in September for 6 months with my SLR in hand hoping to learn how to use it properly, so no doubt i'll be frequenting this site for help!
