Beginner Struggling - Illuminated signs at night

Hi

I’m really struggling to get good photos of illuminated signs at night or darker surroundings. They seem very flat.

Any advice would be appreciated.

Using a A7iv and Sigma 24-70 art lens

Do you have an example image that you are struggling with?

Usually an exposure value issue due to the light & circumstances.

Do you just want photos of the illuminated signs themselves, do you want exposure-balanced shots of them in their surroundings too, or something else?
