Struggling - Advice Please

I've just finished off my first roll of 120 film, I've wound it onto the take up spool and opened the back but now I cannot get the spool out of the camera. The top of the spool comes about 3/4 out and then catches on the winder, any ideas to what I'm doing wrong?

Its an Ensign Selfix 16-20. :shrug:

can you not lift the winder knob up...

OK sorted now. Just needed to engage brain.

wind the sticky tape around the film first, then pause to engage brain, you don't want a loose roll

BITD we used to carry tiny rubber bands to slip over the film to secure it as soon as it came off the film back... saved breaking the paper seal in the darkroom later.

You have to push the film down and then pull down the button that then projects from the bottom of the camera, et voila out comes the film. Just got to decide who to send it to for processing now.
