I'm looking to do a little strobist on location set up for fashion portraits.

Can anyone recommend a cheap mounting bracket for a Nikon SB600 so i can fix to a tripod and mount shoot through umbrellas etc

I'm also after a beauty dish and a softbox that i can use. I have had a look around and seen a few things but always prefer recommendations... I have an Elinchrom studio light setup so anything i can use for both is ideal. Maybe even use the studio softbox on location?

Any other top tips on this or equipment considered a must have appreciated!!!

Thanks,
Jed

Try the one on amazon, search 'Flash Shoe Holder Swivel Bracket Mount' and you should get the Nikon version - Had a play with the Canon version and it's solid enough for learning with!

The problem you'll have is hooking up a studio softbox with a flashgun, lastolite make a portable softbox for flashguns called the ezybox. It's small and expensive, otherwise there are a few DIY options if you hunt on flickr to do it.

Search on warehouse express (or any other decent photo site) for an umbrella bracket, they come in relativley cheap but you'll find most want to fit onto a lightstand and not a tripod.

Yeah i had a quick look at those too. It's becoming apparent there is not a "1 size fits all solution" so i'll have to look at getting a few bits but it's all pretty cheap so not really a problem!

Thanks :D
