Yes
I've just bought some 3rd party batteries for my 400d, and one of them has stopped charging (charger light goes red for a second then goes off). I've had this problem with this make of battery before when I bought from a different company.
All the other batteries (different makes) charge fine.
I'm right in thinking it's a battery problem yes?

Try to keep all batteries to the same ma/h rating. If you have two cells together of different ratings you may damage one.

Again though, only the ones of this particular brand have failed. I'm pretty sure they've stayed in matching pairs in the battery grip, but I'll pay more attention this weekend and see what happens.

Just bought the battery? Send it back for a replacement. Have to ask that if you've already had problems with that brand, why did you buy more of the same?

If you were talking about different types and ratings of batteries being used in series I could understand the point you are trying to make. But with respect to a battery grip where the batteries are used in parallel the only relevance of the mAh rating is with respect to how long one battery will last compared to the other. You will not damage either battery.

Tend to agree with this. I have 7 NB 2Ls, 4 different makes and 3 different mAH ratings. I have never had a problem with any of them after using them mixed in the BG-E3 grip. The only problem I did have with a battery that was very similar to original poster was a duff battery! Sent it back to 7dayshop.com and got a replacement in 6 days!

I didn't know it was going to be this brand. I bought from a totally different retailer who I'd used before and received a brand I've had no trouble with.
