Hi peeps
Of all the places to be, I'm stranded at work :help: It has absolutely p*ssed it down all day and since lunchtime, the main road here has been blocked by floodwater. One car was abandoned with water up to the wing mirrors

So... I've been sat at the GP's surgery (where I was holding an antenatal clinic) since lunchtime waiting for the water to go down. My other problem is that all roads from the village I'm in are closed too. I think I'm here for the duration :( I just want to go home :'(

Oh no - that's terrible! It's been raining like hell here (Wilts) until about an hour ago & now stopped. Really hope you make it home soon. What's an interesting thing to do in a doctors surgery - discuss!

Thats bad news  . I was once recently stopped from getting back into on a dinner time work because of a chemical spillage down the road, I was gutted :D

well, up to now we've eaten lots of chocolate biscuits  Typical isn't it that I don't have my camera with me? Got some pics on my phone though!

How can you commit such as sin, mine hardly ever leaves my side ;)

Right you lot out there - I want 25 interesting things to do when stranded in a doctor's surgery by 5pm to cheer MM up.......
Starter for 10:
1. Practice your best oooohhh maatron voice
2. Self blood-pressure test
3. Inflate rubber gloves - biggest wins
Over to you....

Use rubber gloves once inflated in fun fight
Wheelchair races
Dancing with crutches

4. Build a model out of those lollipop stick thingies!!

You could read all those glossy mags in the waiting room

Seriously i hope you get home safely, can't think of anything worse than being stuck at work.

4: Rearrange the leaflets & straighten the mag pile in the waiting room... oh joy!

Will be off out for a drive later to see what I can see, some of the surrounding villiages here have been suffering with the flash floods lately.

Good luck Min!

Still on the upside ... in the meantime you've got us for company ... :D

:p

You should move to Ireland. It doesn't rain much here.

Here is something you could try (dont think it has been posted before)

DONT scroll too quick, read it all etc

Think of a letter between

A and W.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Repeat it

out loud as

you scroll down.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Keep going ............................ . .

Don't stop . . ..

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Think of an

animal

that begins

with that letter.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Repeat it

out loud

as you

scroll down.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Think of

either a man's/woman's

name

that

begins

with the

last letter

in the

animals name

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Almost

there........

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Now

count out

the letters

in that name

on the fingers

of the hand

you are not

using to

scroll down.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Take the

hand you

counted with

and hold it out

in front of you

at face level

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

Look at your

palm

very closely

and

notice

the

lines

in

your

hand

.

.

.

.

Do the lines

take the

form of the

first letter

in the

persons name?

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

.

. Of course they dont.......

.

.

.

.Now smack yourself in the head!

Ummm..... they did actually! :bang:

JL wins the prize for the longest post :1st:

Lol @ you lot. Thanks for the giggle
Well, I am now home :D The flood water went down quite quickly, and though there were some rather humongous puddles along the way, I got home safely, and despite my concerns, my car didn't get swallowed up

Yes Joe, they have internet connection at the doctors surgery :D At least I could entertain myself for a short while!

Just trying to figure out how I get my pics from my phone onto the pc now

Glad to hear you are home safe and sound Min!;)

Ok, just figured how to get pics off my phone :bonk:

Here goes:

1. Taken from the car park of the GP surgery - this is the road home

2. The building next door to the surgery. The decorators were only there this morning preparing it for new clients. They had to escape thro the windows.

3. No it's not my car :)

Poor Mini! looks like the South is getting a bit of what the North had a couple of weeks ago.
