Hi all,

May be a big ask here but, I am looking for a few photos of UK storm damage e.g. trees fallen into buildings, wind damaged roofs etc, to include in a web video slideshow for a local building company.

Also, need some impact damage photos e.g. car hits house etc.

Would need to be landscape images of reasonable resolution.

I have looked at stock images but, not much available.

Would be greatly appreciated if anyone has anything suitable.

Thanks

What sort of budget do you have?

I have shots from recent flooding (don't think I have any building damage, though) on the Somerset Levels, but since going freelance I tend to leave that sort of stuff to the young and keen! Have you tried SWNS and the like? Press libraries will likely have a better range than basic stock suppliers. You could also ask your local papers if you want stuff from your area.

If you go into a shop and ask after a product, one of the first questions is going to be "how much are you planning to spend?" Why should it be any different when you're after photographs? Some people sell carpets, some sell building supplies, some, like me, sell photographs.

Nothing very amazing about it!

PS: A Google Image search for 'storm damage, England' turns up a load of results.

Type 'Storm Damaged Roof' into Alamy stock site .....I have just seen hundreds of images.

If you are having trouble finding images on stock sites, it is usually down to poor search terms or poor keywording.

Example here ... Linky

Thanks Tom,

I can find images no problem but, most have restrictions or, are limited to three months use.

As this is going to be an online campaign, I need images that can remain online for at least a year, if not longer.

Guess I'll just have to wait for a storm. :D
