I know the simple way to stop search engines from indexing your website...

I just want to stop them loading pictures.. they can visit my main page and gallery pages but want them to NOT visit each picture page which is generated on the fly.

can anyone tell me how on my website and not just a generalisation.. actually how ? ta :)

cpanel shows what bots visit and how much bandwith they use..

the problem I ahve now is different and is on my site.. the time i used the above was on a different site..


NOW my stats will be out if bots visit pictures.. i dont want it to show a picture viewed if a spider/bot loaded it..

trouble is its 100 thousand different page urls because its made on the fly but they still follow them..

need to stop em! :)
 
so ..i think I put that on the gallery section with the thumbnails then it wont follow any links to the pictures.. OR put in the actual pic page so the bot sees it when it arrives and leaves


I am not bothered about bots with no sig that wont be detected.. its the main search engine bots that cause allt he traffic so looks like this will stop them..

but.. in the thumbnail page so it doesnt follow links or in the actual pic page?
 
actally if i put it in the index in the gallery folder as everyhting goes through there then that should do it.. fingers crossed :)
