From Thames Water's website:

Section 76 Water Industry Act 1991

Thames Water Utilities Limited gives notice to all of its customers, that the potable* water it supplies throughout its entire area must not be used for the following purposes:

1. watering a ‘garden’ using a hosepipe;
...
6. drawing water, using a hosepipe, for domestic recreational use;
...

It's the Ilford method for me this summer.

Kielder Water ftw! :p

It's less than 300ml per film. Get out of the shower one minute earlier, i'm sure nobody will notice ;)

Sod 'em, it's about time the water companies stopped creaming profits and invested seriously in the infrastructure, maybe plug a few of the leaks. Instead of threatening customers everytime it hasn't rained for a couple of months.

I think that running a tap for a 10 minute rinse (which is what a pressure wash system amounts to) will use considerably more than 300ml. fwiw, as I'm on metered water supply anyway, i've used the ilford method for the last few years without any problems, so its not a problem when Yorkshire Water decide they've also wasted all their water in leaky pipes...
