Crikey, that's a horrendously long and expensive list. Best of luck to him in getting as much of it as possible safely returned.

Ooh, I hope that was all insured at least. Will keep an eye out while browsing but as I use Canon I probably wont see much of it. Will pass it on to a couple of mates who buy and trade lots of Nikon gear though. Hope he gets it back or replaced as soon as possible.

ouch poor chap :( was it a house brake in ?

From the sounds of that list I would hazard a guess the photographer left his gear in a car which was then broken into.

Burglars wouldn't waste time stealing small stuff like filters and batteries.

Unless all bagged up together :suspect:

Robbing little #%*+#$¥€s !!!

That is horrendous.

I hope he is suitably covered by insurance.

10K in just bodies and lenses. Hope he gets at least some of it back.

I hope he get it back :(
Stay out the other night which I don't often do,had an attempted break in,they got thought the bottom part of my door, and try to smash my lock to get the door open, luckily it held.
Most of my gear was at home.

Paul, I've passed that link out on a couple of forums. Advice is to push that list out to all of the photo agencies that you can find ( of any genre) and also the major second hand dealers.

Keep a running search on Gumtree & eBay for the next few months as well.

sad news...

wish all the best to find as much as possible.

but whoever broke in they have no clue about cameras and they too "high" to understand that anyway. so mostly some drug dealer have all stuff.

keep an eye on ebay, and as Mark mentioned gumtree, or any local forums !!! it will show up one day soon. not sure about second hand shop dealers, don't they ask for any ID documents?

That is awful, also alert SRS microsystems in Watford, they sell used gear and not too far from Slough. Sounds highly likely the individual/s would not know to go to used camera dealers though.

Sadly probably in a cash converters or similar as they seem to have no issues who they take stuff from. One chap locally used to steal TVs from supermarket and walk them round still boxed...

Could spread word via Twitter for lenses etc

Oh my!

I really hope he is insured for that lot.

Regards

Chris

Thanks folks, much appreciated. I believe it was stolen from his car in Slough.

I know what I'd like to do to them, :bat: but they probably got £150 down the pub for that and were well pleased!

Should the police not do all this? Or are they to busy catching speeding motorists..... Ok I don't sound for that to sound that bad but crime these days should get sorted! Harsher punishment and more power to the Rozzers.... Dubai has the right idea chop there hands off!'n

Having seen someone 'stoned' to death in Saudi Arabia for raping a boy, I can tell you it is not a pleasant sight Tom.

Probably was for the parents of the boy!

Probably was for the parents of the boy!

Having been found guilty, the parents decide how the execution takes place. A stoning is not quite what you think. The family throw a few stones then a lorry tips the rest!

But I don't disagree about punishment being fit for the crime by the way.

Best regards

Chris

Having been broken into and having all my camera gear stolen (sadly sitting all bagged up for the thieving scum :bonk:) I feel for the loss of the victim, though I didn't lose as much, it was still all gone though. :shake:

Fingers crossed they get some, hopefully all of the gear back.

Pretty useless if there are 1 million and 1 different databases for stolen kit.

Awful, feel for him. I left all my camera equipment in my boot last summer, one Saturday night it was by mistake....and i didn't even shut it, when i went out to the car Monday afternoon and i realized i nearly fainted. Needless to say i wont make that mistake again.

In that article dated 16th March he said the laptop that was stolen had photos on it from a wedding shot two weeks previously. Irreplaceable but apparently not important enough for him to do a backup of them in two weeks. Twonk.
