Hi peeps. Not sure if I'm posting this in the right place but need some advice.

We are professional wedding photographers.
On some of our weddings, we post a few watermarked lo res images to Facebook as the day goes on, tagging the happy couple so their friends and family can see some professional photos of the day.

We shot a wedding on Saturday and posted some lovely images, however, one of the guests has cropped out our watermark and posted a few as her own. We contacted her and asked her to remove them, she agreed and yet they are still there. She is getting like after like and comments saying what beautiful photos she has taken.

Just wondering what course of action to take should she not remove the photos?

You can report the images to Facebook. There's a specific option for copyright infringement.
Facebook will remove them if you provide the link to your watermarked photos.
 
Thanks Spike. We have been very polite in asking her, we've missed out on massive exposure due to this as it was a very large wedding. :(
Would you allow a timeframe before reporting the images?
 
some people have no scruples .. add to that its a pretty serious offence. not only by cropping the images but also passing them off as her own..really the only course of action is to issue an official notice not only to remove the images but also an invoice too.

however its always tricky if this person is a relative of the bride and groom as could then cause some issues further down the line .. but end of the day what they are doing is not only wrong but illegal.

No
I'd do it straight away. I'd also contact the B&G as they'll be P'd off and will rightly probably tear the 'friend' a new one.
From the B&Gs perspective, their 'friend' has embarrassed them as they are your customers.
 
Thanks Dean. This is the first time (that we are aware of) that this has happened to us. She has tagged the B+G and they have liked them despite knowing that they are our images. I'll make the guest aware of her error and the repercussions it can incur, again
