It's a direct link so if you replace the image with something else it won't show on their site.

They are actually only hot-linking to them. You could always ask them to remove the links.

First off, it's not theft but copyright infringement. They haven't illegally deprived you of your property - you still have the original.

Secondly, where did they get them from? If it's a Social media or photo sharing site, make sure that you've checked the terms and conditions and have set the correct licence. They may be legally allowed to take them.

Finally, if you're sure that they haven't legally downloaded them from Flickr or similar, send them a letter with invoice. If that doesn't work, you need to make a claim via the courts for damages. You need to work out what the cost of damages is.
 
Calm down ladies and gents it quite clear this is a Flickr API Search that the website is using, all that shows is thumbnails, that when clicked go directly to your page on Flickr, this is covered in the T&C's of Flickr and in reality is hardly any different to putting a link to the photos

OK thank you for clearing that up! I've never had this before so had no idea! :lol:
 
Just clicked on one and indeed it does take you to Flickr although some of the tags...not sure how appropriate they are...boobs, sex.. :lol:

I read something online where someone used lots of ridiculous tags and god like 2000 views and into explore so I thought "meh", why not! :shrug:

Wouldn't you rather have 'legitimate' stats/comments/recognition?

If enough people flag the photo it will get removed from searches, public view etc.

The people doing searches for those keywords probably have other things on their mind than reporting incorrectly tagged pics.
