Might be worth emailing the main used dealers round the UK .

That's really bad news Lloyd. More importantly though are you ok?

Not good. I have an eye out for a 501 and the 503's come up quite often so I'll keep an eye out.

You could also periodically search https://usedlens.co.uk/ as that picks up cameras as well as lenses.

Hope you're ok.

I’m alright, a white Audi pulled up next to my van and grabbed my bag as I was about to drive off - they had been watching me. Managed to take my wallet as well, so have to cancel cards and get a new license.

I’ve emailed a few more shops and notified the police, not much more I can do. Have CCTV footage but the plates are fake, but the police are on the lookout I guess.

thanks everyone. Hopefully something turns up.

That's a complete bummer, sorry to hear it. Not that I look for Hasselblads often but I will keep it in mind. Hope you manage to get it back.

I'm in the US so cannot help, but you might want to say where and when it happened. Hope the low-lifes get caught and you recover everything. We have a lot of thefts here, too.

Right, yeah it happened in Leyton, London. My AirPods were in the bag and they’re giving out a location every now and then, but it isn’t frequent enough to pinpoint. They seem to be based around East London along the A406.

Date, time? (Might jog someone's memory.)

Also worth checking sites like the sale room which aggregates auction sales. I'd hope a normal auction house would check whether an item is stolen but they might not.

Hope the AirPods somehow manage to grass the thieving sods up!

Ouch, that's a terrible thing to happen, especially as you were actually robbed rather than having it stolen from the van. I'm glad you had recorded all the serial numbers, since I'm guessing many of us haven't been so conscientious. :$

Not good, I hope you can get them back. I don't often look for medium format cameras, but I'll keep an eye open.

11:00 AM on the 25th (today).

I've emailed the following shops:

Aperture UK
Ffordes
SE Cameras
Real Camera Company
Vintage Classic Camera
Pro Centre
Park Cameras
LCE
Classic Camera London
WYCameras
MW Classic

Any I may have missed? Mifsuds' email system isn't working so I'll have to call them tomorrow. A few of the stores have also passed the message on to their own contacts plus I've been raising awareness on Instagram and Reddit. I'm compiling a list of pawnshops in the area as well. I'm also logging where/when the airpods ping me so hopefully the police can have a better idea of their movements.

Mr CAD?
Cameraworld?

Pawn shops would be my first port of call and the local CEX shops in the area. Chances are they may not know what they’ve got and think to just offload easily.

Bloody hell. Sorry to hear this Lloyd. Fingers crossed for you mate. I hope you are insured so at least you can jump back on the horse (y)

I feel for you. Similar happened to me nearly 2 years ago at a motorway services. Sadly I suspect the Police won't follow up the crime as it's a low value (to them) matter, so the best hope is recovery via a retailer.

Just got back from the 'local' police station and updated them with their last known whereabouts and a few more details. Unfortunately the way they're organised now means that they have to post it up on the central system and then hope that local units aren't too busy to follow up. The Police have been thoroughly scaled back here, there used to be 5 stations within ten minutes but now I have to drive about 20 minutes to actually speak to an officer face to face. And of course I couldn't find a single officer/car to report to at all today.

Unfortunately that particular kit is uninsured since I just bought it as an early birthday present. I just hope it shows up at a pawn shop/dealer and makes its way back to me eventually.

CEX.
Also set up a gumtree and fb marketplace search...
Sorry to hear what happened....

Sorry to hear about your theft, but at least you are ok.
I've asked on the Orient forums to keep an eye out for your stuff.
You should probably check Gumtree and Cash Converters, they might be that stupid.
Whereabouts in Leyton did it happen?

You could also contact the local paper, its the Waltham Forest Guardian and has good coverage in the area

Really sorry to hear this, I do hope you are able to recover it.

There are quite a few U.K. based and international Facebook groups, Hasselblad specific and more general analoque equipment, where secondhand gear is posted for sale. it might be worth putting the word out on those groups too if you can.

Who is your buildings and contents insurance with?
My insurance covers unspecified personal items up to a value of £2500.
Might be worth checking your policy.

That said, I'm assuming you are a home owner.

Very sorry to hear this , Bast--ds lowlife sc-m  I do hope you get it back.

This is the one thing that is constantly on my mind when out alone , Easy pickings when you come up against a gang .

Someone replied saying they told their friend who owns Red Dot Cameras.
They will no doubt let others know to keep their eye out for such recognisable gear.

I wonder what it is about motorway service stations. Many years ago I was working as an agency driver and had filled up my large van with diesel and was about to leave. A 'gentleman' came up to the driver's side ( I had my window open) slapped a very large wad of notes against the windscreen and said "this is yours if you just get out and walk away". That man was so lucky I am an honest man and declined his offer because in the back of the van was a huge load of used coffee cups for recycling, it bloody stank to high heaven and the floor of the van ran with old coffee; really quite disgusting. I'm not sure the resale value of that load would have amounted to much :).
