Following my 'Good Canon Review...' post last week, Daz was unfortunately mugged coming out of the Motor Show at the weekend, knocked unconcious and all his camera kit nicked, including all the new bits that I'd advised him he needed.
He woke up surrounded by GMP officers looking concerned.

All insured, thankfully, but his shiner is a good 'un. Once I get the serial numbers from him I'll edit this post accordingly.

Hope Daz is not too traumatised ... and at least his gear was insured ... small mercies ... :(

Sounds nasty - small mercy that it was all insured but sounds like he took a hammering, so could have been worse I guess.

Wish him a fast recovery.
 
Sounds like a nasty incident.

If I hear of anything knocking about, I'll let you know....you never know..I do know quite a few shady characters ;)

Glad to hear he's ok & the gear was insured but I hope their thieving fingers drop off!

Have to admit, being mugged for my equipment has gone through my mind when Ive considered going into town to try & get some street candids, Im not the biggest of people & think Id be an easy target.

Tis a sh*tty world out there!
 
Ain't it just. F**kin low life scum that do stuff like that. And they probably sold it on for a tenth it's value...

sorry to hear this, i hope Daz is ok,
a manfrotto 682 monopod, built like a scaffold pole wrapped around the face, thats what theses little sh**s need.
 
Poor devil - what a rotten thing to happen. I must admit that it's something that has crossed my mind - walking through some shady bits of South London the other week the camera was round my neck and being hung on to for grim death, but it's memory card was snugly tucked up in my jeans pocket "just in case".

So long as he's OK - that's the main thing. Fingers crossed the insurance all pays up OK for him.

So - Arkady - you've got another crack and talking him into a Nikon now then?!
 
Think i'll rather be mugged than let Arkady talk me into joining the dark side..

Sorry to hear that, might be an idea to keep looking for the gear on ebay etc, and going to pick it up in person...
