when I stitch a number of images in cs3 to create a pano the end result with regards to lining up etc is perfect but im left with big black lines down the image between where each image was joined.has anyone else had this problem??or know how to fix it?

Are you using the automated stitching in CS3 or doing it by hand?

Is this lens vignetting making its way into the panorama due to shooting the panorama with the lens set at its widest setting (and possibly low f number)? Not sure what controls you have in CS3 to remove this, but that's where I'd look first...

thanks for your replys,i am doing it automated as thats the only way i know how to.when i flatten the image it makes no difference.
the lens vignetting may be one to look at and was something i never thought of.

thanks again all

Flatten image always works for me. Try merge layers...

I sometimes have this issue as well but changing the zoom level and flattening the image always sorts it. It has something to do with the way that the zoom previews are generated at the different zoom levels (25%, 50%, 100% etc)

why not use the canon photostitch software that came with your camera?

Are the black lines showing up when you view the image in something else (windows etc) and can you post a screen grab for us to see.
How much overlap do you allow when shooting?
When I used CS3 I did a lot of panos and sometimes got a thin line before flattening the image, thats caused by the way PS renders the image, they usually vanish at different sizes (PS doesn't display correctly unless your viewing at 100% really) and always went after flatterning.
