Ok, so most photos I take which don't turn out properly I think I know where I've gone wrong - mostly it's just too small an aperture value reducing the depth of field and blurring parts of what I want in focus... I'm fairly sure that's it anyway....

Anyway, as I said in my intro thread I currently use a SX30 IS, great camera and I've loved learning with it so far, but I'm about to step up to a DSLR namely the Canon 60D and I can't wait! So here is some of my work, I particularly like macro and close up as I'm sure you'll see.... Oh & I don't use post processing either, mainly because it's a little beyond me and I'd rather just try to get it right with the camera or as close to right as I can get anyway...

So, here are the photos:

So enjoy and thanks for looking :D

Thank you so much!!! I was just getting the img code and trying to link and it didn't like me!!

You should try a Canon 60mm macro on that 60D once it arrives. :)
However if you don't have a macro lens for the 60D then the Polaroid Extension tubes make a good buy at around £60. They work with EF and EF-S lenses.

Good luck with the new camera, always nice to have new kit, DOF can be a very creative part of photography I like the lizard shot, not something i see often.

I'm off to look for that now, thanks! I don't have any lenses yet, as the 60D will be my first DSLR. I can wait and thanks for the pointers on the extension tubes.

Thanks :-) I'm a pretty big fan of these little guys, they're always hanging around the yard and I was amazed at how many there were on that day.
