Hi,
I recently bought a Nikon D5300 which came with a number of extras and attachments. The lenses I have for it are Nikon 18-55mm and Nikon 70-300mm.
Unfortunately the attachments which arrived, Opteka filter kit, Opteka 52mm 0.43X HD Wide angle lens, Opteka 52mm 2.2X HD. Telephoto lens and 52mm Petal flower lens hood are all 52mm and do not fit either of the lenses. The seller has offered to send an adaptor to enable these attachments fit both sizes (55mm and 62mm)
My question is whether anyone has used such an adaptor especially when going from 62mm to 52mm? Are there any issues that arise, is this best avoided and the correct size attachments sought?

Your thoughts on this would be most appreciated,

Mich

If it was the other way (larger filter down to your size) I would accept, but a small filter on a larger lens? I'd get the correct size. (or even larger, then a step down ring for each lens)

This is probably a good thing as the Opteka lenses will almost certainly give disappointing results.
You can get away with using a smaller filter on a larger lens if the difference is only a few mm but 10mm is very likely to cause vignetting.

Thank you both for your prompt response, you have confirmed my concerns, much appreciated,

Mich
