Yes
thinking of getting a steam cleaner for use around the house, but know nothing about them. Have any of you got one? if so do you make use of it? or is it left in a cupboard all the time?
Advise as to what you use them for, what to look for, and which ones to maybe buy, would be appreciated.

I bought a handheld one a few years ago. Intended to use it for cooker cleaning. I took it back. It was ineffective.

I see some advertised for carpet cleaning. Don't understand how the dirt gets collected.

I bought a hand held one to clean the grouting on tiles (like they show on the TV ad), they weren't too bad to start with but needed refreshing, it sort of improved it a bit but wasn't really impressive. Then when a flexible tube blew off the back of the unit and steam cleaned the back of my hand, it went back for a refund very quickly. luckily A & E wasn't too busy that evening and I was out with a big dressing on my hand in a couple of hours. No more steam cleaners for me though.

...bet the wound was clean though ;)

I bought Polti Vaporetto - very pleased with it.
We have two dogs and it's great to be able to thoroughly clean the floors without chemicals.
I've also used it to clean some car parts - but mum's the words there as SWMBO doesn't know.
