Static Camera to film sports

Hello,
I would like to put some cameras up in a sports hall or out on a tennis/football court to record and then upload match videos to youtube.
I need a camera that is fairly small but also has good enough quality to record a game. Most of the IP cameras I have seen look a bit jerky and are more suited to night/day rather than quality in good lighting.
These would be a permanent fixture connected to some sort of linux server in the main office for processing.
Can anybody recommend a camera for this?

Does it have to be an IP/network camera?
You'd be better off with some form of video camera but you would need to then
feed it's video into your server system.
Alternatively you could go for an Canon EOS of some kind which has the benefit
of being remotely controllable for a lot of functions.

It all depends on what sort of budget you have.

Obvious answer is a GoPro but that could be a problem if you want it to be permantly connected.
