Hello all,
I dont visit here at all really only to view pics and read but never post. Anyway would like to change this as i am going on to do my 2nd year of Alevel Photography.

All the rest of my class are using digital but i am wanting to do some film. As the college has no film gear just want to know what i would cost me to setup with a pretty decent camera and couple of primes like a 50mm.

Would like to keep this cheap as i am a student and what they say about students being poor is completely true. Also wondering whats the cost to have a film developed these days and put onto disc ?

Ideally would shoot on B&W film and then maybe in the future have a go at developing myself.

Thanks
Dan

Off the top of my head - have a look at something like this ?

As far as film developing, tesco's do a C-41 film develop and scan to cd for £3 I think. That will cover you for colour film or the chromagenic B&W films such as Ilford XP2+. Proper Black and White film costs a bit more, maybe around a tenner?

****but i am wanting to do some film.***

The last time we covered this sort of question was:-
http://www.talkphotography.co.uk/forums/showthread.php?t=251344

My cheapest result for 35mm film use, ending with 36 quality shots developed and put onto a CD was a total of £2.60.
The Nikon AF P@S was 50p, film 10p and at the time Tesco developed and scanned to CD for £2....so you see if you keep your eyes open it can be sooo cheap to try film to see if you like it.
