Yes
So according to many sources - the trailer for Star Wars: Episode VII 'The Force Awakens' should be out 'somewhere' at some time this afternoon.

I saw it on Facebook yesterday (or at least 'a' trailer for it).

I was a bit disappointed when I heard Disney were going to be making this, so im hoping it isnt a let down. Only have to wait until December 2015 :)

here it is.....

I really hope it doesn't suck like the last 3, but even with them I always find the hairs standing up on my neck when a new trailer arrives. Lets just hope JJ works his magic on this one.

and IMHO, being Disney made doesn't bother me too much. Guardians of the Galaxy was superb.

It does still bring back back the goosebumps :)

And worse still, it's being directed by J.J. Abrams - the same person who single handily ruined Star Trek.

Good to see Mark Hamill and Harrison Ford are still playing the original characters. I didn't like any of the films after the Return of the Jedi.

In EP 2 there was just to much lovey dovey stuff. I know they need to set the story but it just went to far. Its a sifi not a romance. But the punch ups are good in all the films, bit like lord of the rings.

Of the newer films (Episode 1,2,3) I only liked 3 if I'm honest.

No doubt down to my age and because I spent all my time (during 1 &2) waiting to see how 3 joined 4

7 interests me because of the follow on and the old characters but I'll reserve judgement till I see it.

The trailer snippet - nice to see some familiar sights.

He didn't ruin Star Trek. The previous writers of the Star Trek films/tv shows ruined Star Trek.

That's not to say I like his version of ST all that much (the 1st ones good, the 2nd is pretty crap) but it's not ST, it's lost it's soul and lost its original ideas....it's just nice, enjoyable eye candy with no substance.

Are the new films aimed at children like all previous ones? Will this effectively have a "U" rating?

Its one year away

5/6 were U's this kind of implies they were aimed at children.
They do this a lot like harry potter. These days they seem to bring a lot of super hero films out etc, where all the figures and toys are aimed at kids like my 6 year old but they make the films a 12 rating. Superman Returns, all the Transformers, Iron Man, Hulk etc etc. Its daft.

If they are aiming SW at children why ruinen it by making one of the a 12? Let's face it not many 12+ are going to be collecting the figures or Lego for it.

Don't know if that holds true. Plenty of children's toys from films that have ratings higher than PG. I might be wrong but I remember there being Robocop toys and that was an 18.

It doesn't mean they're aimed specifically at children though. The U classification = suitable for all audiences aged four years and over.

They're are plenty of films that fall into the U classification that aren't made to interest children in the slightest.

Brighton Rock is a U rating!

This looks ace. Looks like he's got the tone just right.

Or another trailer that's better than the film and you've seen all the best bits having seen it...:grumpy:

These action films are now ruined by over use of CGI and lots of loud noises and loud music that try to make up for bad acting and and a lack of ability to create tension or suspense. George Lucas really made a mess of the last 3 Star Wars and one of the last Star treks was full of over blown CGI ect I gave up halfway through.

I would sooner watch Brighton Rock (1947),they don't make them like that now! As Dicky say's " I'll tell you what I think about you.." I cringe! .Thing is I remember using one of those record machines.I think it cost two shillings to tell the bird you were going out with what you thought of her and she did not find out till she played the record when she got home. You were long gone by then.LOL
