Hello, I'm wondering if anybody has any suggestions on this. I'm interested in making a time lapse but with movement, more movement than a motorised dolly could give. I've seen a lot of people shooting normal time-lapses - moving the camera manually (with a tripod) and doing the stabilisation in PP, giving the effect of a seamless single motion between movement and shots ( I think they're called hyperlapses). Sadly it appears you need After Effects to do this, which I don't have.
So far I've tried manually aligning each shot in GIMP, this was driving me nuts when I need to align 200 shots. I tried Hug-in to align all my layers automatically, this is very hit or miss for me - sometimes it won't find any markers and can't align them and if i'm using more than 50 jpegs (it took over an hour to align them and my PC isn't that slow), I then had a look online and tried VirtualDub with Deshaker which appears to be acceptable but for some reason is making my already stabilised shots more jerky (!?).
Is there anything out there than can 1) Align my jpegs smoothly and without the hassle that Hugin gives me 2) A free PP stabilizer than can match After Effects with the Warp Stabilizer plug-in?
Thanks.
EDIT ; I see Youtube has a virtual stabiliser, sadly it appears my quickly made time lapse can't get this edit though. I'll try something tomorrow.
