I have just seen this link;

http://www.radiopopper.com/

It seems like a pretty good product.

I have just ordered a ST-E2 to go with the 580ex II, I am getting for xmas, but am a bit concerned now after reading a few posts as to how good it is.

Does anyone use an ST-E2, without problems? is it just limited to inside use?

I use an ST-E2 with my flashguns a lot, mainly with the 580 & 430

The range is pretty good, although I haven't tested them to the limit, but seem to cope well with any indoor range.

The one limitation I've found is that you need the guns in front of the ST-E2 to guarantee trigger.

Saying that, it's a wonderful bit of kit, especially as you can alter the ratio between the guns, great when you are using one as a fill in.

Thanks Les,

I can't wait for santa to deliver it :) I have never really tried flash photography, so I am looking forward to getting to grips with it.

The radio popper product I linked to above seems interesting, It seems to be an infra red to wireless transmitter/receiver, it will mean that we will be able to use ST-E2/Flash over a long range and without needing line of site.
