I am at the point of getting a new website together. I wanted to see what peoples thoughts on the above are. I have watched loads of videos online about it, on their website and from other photographers such as Jared Polin, Karl Taylor and others.

It looks pretty nice, lots of different templates, easy to use, etc etc.

What i wanted to know is do any of you use them, what are your thoughts and experiences etc. Also what package did you go for?

Look forward to reading your comments.

Hi Anthony,

I've been using Squarespace for about 6 months now and can't fault it. Highly customisable and dead easy to use with loads of stylish looking templates. Customer service is first class too.

I use the basic package as I don't need any of the e-commerce or anything like that.

I've tried some of the others such as Zenfolio and Smugmug but IMO Squarespace blows them away.

I just signed up to SquareSpace having trialed, took some getting used to but once you've sussed it highly customable and with blog, ecommerce and analytics it's very good value imo..you can check mine out here www.robinchun.com

I've been using Squarespace since June after swapping from photo shelter. The sites look good and are easy to set up, the customer service is excellent too. I would recommend it. you can see my site at www.darrenobrien.co.uk . The only thing I would like them to do now is introduce a client delivery section.

I started at the beginning of this year for a website, as it was one of my objectives for 2015. I looked around but plumped with Squarespace and not looked back. Easy to use and they will help if you need it. Give you an example, it was not obvious how to change the gallery styles, so I emailed them. Minutes later I got a reply and the directions to make the change. In 10 minutes I had what I wanted.

It is still a work in progress and now distracting me from shooting, but have a look if you want

I was torn between wix and squarespace. Used the free trials on both sites to test them properly and ended up going with wix. Both excellent but felt wix gave me more flexibility. Note however I have a very simple website, no e-commerce etc.

Use the free 14 day trial and give it a good test

I have been using them for a couple of years. Cant fault them. Really easy to use and the helpdesk is superb. They respond quickly and clearly.

take a look at my site www.gregcoltmanphotography.com it is fairly basic in terms of what it does but thats ideal for me. Things like SEO are built in and adding the right meta / words to images is easy. Give it a free go and see what you think. Adding a logo, changing layout etc have been so simple that i was able to have the site up and running within a couple of days. Making tweaks is easy....

before them i used clikpic which was painful...

I'm loking at setting up a website as I have been asked to take the photos at a chairty event I will be taking part in in August and want somewhere to host them with an option for people to buy prints etc. To help rasie more money for the charity if I can

Thankyou very much for the feedback everyone, looks like this may well suit my needs pretty well. Very pleased indeed to hear their service is good, especially if you have questions regarding setup or whatever.

Also thanks for the site links for all those that have posted them, great to see how you have used it and see your sites setup and running! :)

Great stuff.

Also to note, I have seen various 10% off discount codes from people like Jared Polin and Karl Taylor, so worth bearing in mind if you are thinking of signing up, 10% off your first year!

Anthony..I took advantage of the FRO discount though I'm on the $8.00 monthly plan, which works out at £6.61 per month, good value!..would be good to see your site once you're up and running

Robin, good to hear, I too am thinking about the $8 package, can always upgrade to the next one if required at a later date. I will of course post up my site once I have got it up and running, which shouldn't take too long looking at various videos and tutorials of setup.
