Anyone bought one of this range yet? I am wanting to calibrate my monitor. I am so confused which to go for. I set my mind on one, then i get talked out of it, i was looking firstly at the colourmonki display model. I need someone with experience to advise. I have a Dell u23 ips, i will be sending prints off for printing, would i be wasting my money on the elite, if i am only using it for monitor calibration.
 
Well I can't answer your question directly but I have a Spyder 3 Elite (with v4 software) and it works fine. My prints that come back from the lab are spot on as are those images I give to other people digitally. I'm not sure what the difference is with the Elite and the Pro, but I used a Pro before and that was fine too but the Elite just came up on offer somewhere. I think the Colormunki is a bit more versatile with projected images (?) but having seen the calibration on that and mine the outcome almost the same such that there was the tiniest difference.
 
Ok thanks Blackcloud. Which lab do you use and did you run some test prints first, to see how they faired. I think it would benefit me to do this.
 
Mainly I use DSCL although I have used others. You can download their paper profiles and it all seems spot on to me. My tests were simply the initial batch of prints and many subsequent ones.
