Spiked feet.....any ideas why Gitzo decided to introduce non-removeable spiked feet onto their systematic range, including the travel models like the 4552TS which people might like to carry as hand luggage (else why buy a compact tripod?). On paper, other than being perhaps slightly too short, it looks the ideal travel tripod for heavy-weight kit. No more arriving on location to find your suitcase missing and your support gone. Has anyone had any experience of over-zealous airport security disallowing a tripod as it has spiked feet. The options would seem to be limited file down the spike so it cant be classed as dangerous, or superglue the rubber feet in place for all eternity. Both of which immediately halve the resale value of a 700 quid tripod...
