I'm going to spend a week in Sydney - between Christmas and New Year - aside from the regular tourist haunts, and the NYE fireworks - anyone that's travelled there can suggest things to shoot around the city? Areas of interest? I enjoy anything out on the street - people - buildings - night time etc.

Its a city just brimming with subjects............

Circular Quay with the Opera House, and the Sydney Bridge, The Rocks opposite the Opera House is some of "old" Sydney. So may bays, not least Manly, Bondi. Botany Bay if you want jets and in places wild life..........................................

Enjoy your holiday, regards to my sister while you are there...............

Manly Beach is much nicer than Bondi. Go over the bridge its brilliant, but you won't be able to take your own camera. Take a boat ride round the harbour, the views are magnificent. Its ten years since I've been, but it was awesome.

I had my first day today - have been over to Manly beach on the ferry from Circular Quay which is square :) which also involved the boat giving a great view of the harbour bridge at sunset. I've heard about the Rocks - will have a wander there tomorrow - great first impressions :)
